We are a small group of unpaid volunteers that organize, fund raise, and staff the Wythenshawe Community Run for the benefit of the local community and runners and running families.
We have a dedicated volunteer organisation committee that consists of

But we cannot put the run on without you're help and every week we need at least 11 volunteer marshals in order to make sure the run goes ahead safely.
We need Marshals from 8.30 am - 8.45 am until around 10.00 am. Roles include......
Track and Timing marshals - Who help the Race Director and core team record finish times, give out token numbers and collate runners details.Car park and woods marshal - Help guide runners on arrival to park safely and then welcome our runners back towards the track from the wooded area.
2K turnaround marshals - Three marshals working together to turn our 2k runners around for the return to the track, direct 5K runners on the loop and back to track, advise other park users of the run and occasionally halt traffic whilst runners pass.(5K Runners will pass you twice)
Altrincham Road out marshal - Guide our runners 5K out onto Altrincham Road dual use cycle path, advising if any cyclists are approaching and advising cyclist of the run.(Runners will pass you twice)
Altrincham Road in marshal - Turning our 5K runners back into the park from the cycle path advising if any cyclists are approaching and advising cyclist of the run and advising other park user of the run.(Runners will pass you twice)
Bridge marshal - Turning runners back towards the hall and advising other park users and vehicles of the run.(Runners will pass you twice)
Statue marshal - Turning runners at the statue corner back towards the tennis courts and advising other park users of the run.(Runners will pass you twice)
Tail runner - Who runs at the back of the 5k to safely follow the last runners and advise marshals to stand down.
Refreshments marshal - Who set up our refreshments table. fills our refreshments containers with water and serve a free refreshing drink at the end of the run.(and sometimes chocolate treats)
We also welcome Duke of Edinburgh volunteers to complete the volunteering section of there award (please speak to one of the team for more details)

You don't need any specific skills as we will provide full training and individual mentoring and we will always try and match volunteers to a suitable position and we we always guarantee good fun!
